Great literature, literary study, and writing are at the heart of the Department of Languages mission. During Lessons students encounter outstanding novels, short stories, poems, plays, essays, and song lyrics, and consider the many ways literature confronts fundamental questions about the human condition in different times and places.
Our department consists of engaged and accomplished teachers whose goal is to challenge our students, and make them more sophisticated thinkers and better writers.
Kiswahili
Kiswahili ni mojawapo wa lugha za kiafrika ambayo inakua kwa kasi mno. Katika Afrika ya mashariki kiswahili kinazungumzwa katika nchi za Kenya, Tanzania ,Uganda, Rwanda na Burundi. Aidha kiswahili kinazungumzwa katika nchi za Congo na Zaire.
Ndiposa sisi kama Idara ya Lugha tunajizatiti mno kuhakikisha kwamba vijana hawa wanaelewa lugha hii ya kupendeza. Licha ya maswala yanayotukumba, twajikaza kuchambua lugha hii na kuwapa ufahamu zaidi.
